La Cimbali in Vallejo

La Cimbali commercial service.

Vallejo's water runs hard, fed from Lake Berryessa and the State Water Project through the Fleming Hill plant. On a La Cimbali that hardness settles in the boiler first. It coats the heating element, bridges the level probe to the boiler wall, and narrows the small passages in the group solenoids, so trouble can start as slow recovery and end with a boiler that floods or refuses to fill.

We collect the machine from your counter, whether it is downtown, in South Vallejo or on Mare Island, and bring it to our bench. There we fill it, bring it up to pressure and pull shots on every group until the fault shows. Before any part is replaced you get a written quote, along with what the scale inside says about your filter.

$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • Level probe misreading the boiler water line. Scale on the probe tricks the fill logic. The boiler either overfills and sends wet steam out of the wand, or never registers as full and the autofill times out. We clean or replace the probe, descale around its fitting, and watch several fill cycles on the bench.
  • Heating element open or buried in scale. A scaled element takes longer to heat and runs hotter doing it, until it fails open and the boiler stays cold. We measure the element, descale the boiler, and replace the element when it reads open or leaks to ground.
  • Group solenoid dribbling after the shot. Mineral on the solenoid seat keeps it from sealing, so the group keeps dribbling after the shot or the pre-infusion runs wrong. We pull the solenoid, clean or replace it, and check each group's flow against the others.

FAQ

La Cimbali in Vallejo questions, answered.

  • How often should a Vallejo cafe change the filter on a La Cimbali?
It depends on how many drinks you pull and on the cartridge. On water this hard, a filter that runs past its capacity lets scale through with no warning in the cup. When your machine is on the bench, we look at the scale in the boiler and on the probe and suggest an interval that fits your volume.
  • Our M39 floods the steam boiler. Is it the probe or the fill valve?
Either can do it. A scaled probe that never reads full keeps the fill valve open, and a fill valve with scale on its seat can let water in even when it is told to close. We test the probe signal and the valve separately so only the failed part gets replaced.
  • Can you pick up a heavy two-group M39 from downtown Vallejo?
Yes. Downtown, South Vallejo, Glen Cove, Hiddenbrooke and Mare Island are all in our pickup area. A two-group machine is heavy, so tell us about steps, doorways and where it sits, and we bring enough hands to move it safely.
  • What does the La Cimbali pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair.
  • How long does La Cimbali bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered.
  • What warranty applies to La Cimbali coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
