La Cimbali in San Pablo
La Cimbali commercial service.
A La Cimbali doses by volume. Each button is programmed for a set amount of water, and a flow meter counts it into the group. When the pour starts to drift, one shot long and the next short, the cause can be a fouled meter, a solenoid that closes late, or a loose connector between the meter and the board.
San Pablo is on EBMUD water, soft to moderate, so we check the connectors and the solenoids before we blame scale. We pick up across the city, from San Pablo Avenue near Church Lane to Rumrill Boulevard and San Pablo East, and on our bench we time and weigh each programmed dose. You get a written quote before any repair starts.
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Programmed doses drifting long or short. We run each button several times and weigh the output. If every group drifts, the board or its programming is suspect; if one group drifts, its flow meter, solenoid or connector is. We clean or replace that part and reprogram the doses once the flow is steady.
- Group solenoid closing late. A solenoid that closes late keeps water flowing after the dose ends, so the cup overfills and the puck stays soupy. We rebuild or replace the solenoid and check that the group releases pressure cleanly into the drain.
- Safety valve hissing on the steam boiler. A safety valve that hisses or drips is releasing pressure the boiler should not reach, or its seat has worn. We check the pressure switch and the boiler pressure first, since a stuck pressure switch can overheat the boiler, then replace the valve if its seat is damaged.

FAQ
La Cimbali in San Pablo questions, answered.
-
Our San Pablo cafe's doses are all over the place. Can you reset them?
We can, but reprogramming only holds if the flow is steady. On the bench we find out why the doses drift first, whether that is a meter, a solenoid or the board, then set each button again and weigh the results. -
Is a hissing safety valve on a La Cimbali dangerous?
Take it seriously. The valve is there to vent pressure the boiler should never reach. Turn the machine off and call us. On the bench we test the pressure switch and the valve and replace whatever let the pressure climb. -
Can you pick up near Contra Costa College or on Rumrill Boulevard?
Yes. The area around Contra Costa College, San Pablo Avenue, Rumrill Boulevard and San Pablo East are all in our pickup area. Let us know how many groups the machine has so we arrange enough hands to lift it. -
What does the La Cimbali pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. -
How long does La Cimbali bench repair take?
