La Cimbali in Pinole
La Cimbali commercial service.
When a La Cimbali runs fine on one group and struggles with two or three going at once, the pump and motor are the usual suspects. Pressure that swings under load, a motor that hums before it catches, or a pump that gets louder every month all point to wear. So does a machine that pulls good shots at opening and weak ones at the busy hour.
Pinole is on EBMUD water, soft to moderate, so we look at the moving parts before we blame scale. We pick up from Old Town, Pinole Valley, Linda Heights and the retail district along Fitzgerald Drive, then run the machine on our bench with a gauge on the brew circuit and every group drawing together. A written quote comes before any repair.
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Pump pressure dropping with every group running. A worn rotary pump or a slipping bypass cannot hold pressure once all groups draw at once. We gauge the pressure at idle and under full load, try to bring the bypass back to spec, and replace the pump head when the adjustment will not hold.
- Pump motor humming before it starts. A motor that hums, trips, or starts late often has a failing start capacitor, worn bearings or a tired coupling to the pump. We test the capacitor and the motor windings and replace the part that has failed, not the whole assembly by default.
- Drain box backing up under the drip tray. Coffee grounds and milk residue collect in the drain box and its hose until water backs up into the drip tray. We clear the drain path, check the hose for sags and kinks, and flush it until water leaves freely.

FAQ
La Cimbali in Pinole questions, answered.
-
Why does our Pinole cafe's La Cimbali pull weaker shots during the rush?
Usually because the pump cannot keep up once several groups draw at once, or the motor is slipping under load. Heat recovery can also lag when the element is scaled. We test pressure and temperature under full load on the bench to find which one is falling off. -
Can you pick up our machine before we open on Fitzgerald Drive?
Yes. Fitzgerald Drive, Old Town, Pinole Valley, Nob Hill, Bay Side and Pinole on the Hill are all inside our pickup area. We can schedule it before you open or after you close so the counter is clear during service. -
Is it the pump or the motor when our machine gets loud?
It can be either, or the coupling between them. A pump grinds or whines when its vanes wear; a motor hums or growls when its bearings go. We separate them on the bench and replace only the one that has failed. -
What does the La Cimbali pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. -
How long does La Cimbali bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to La Cimbali coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
