La Cimbali in Rodeo
La Cimbali commercial service.
Rodeo sits on San Pablo Bay by Interstate 80 and State Route 4, and our pickup area runs on to Crockett and Port Costa. A La Cimbali that sits switched off for a stretch can come back with trouble: solenoids stuck by dried coffee or scale, a pump that will not prime, gaskets that dried and cracked, or a boiler that fills but never heats.
Rodeo and Crockett are on EBMUD water, soft to moderate. Port Costa gets treated water from the Contra Costa Water District, so a machine there may scale differently. On our bench we bring a stored machine back slowly, check every valve before full pressure, and give you a written quote before any repair. CSLB #1136642.

Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Solenoid stuck after the machine sat unused. Dried coffee and scale can glue a solenoid shut or hold it open. A group then does nothing or dribbles nonstop. We free or replace the solenoid, flush the group, and run it through repeated cycles before we trust it.
- Pump that will not prime after storage. A pump left dry can lose its prime or seize at the vanes. We check the water supply and the inlet screen, try to free and prime the pump, and replace the pump head if it has seized.
- Boiler fills but never heats. When the boiler fills and the element stays cold, we look at the element, its safety thermostat and the relay or contactor that switches it. A tripped safety thermostat often means the boiler once ran dry, so we check the level probe too.

FAQ
La Cimbali in Rodeo questions, answered.
-
Can you collect a La Cimbali from Crockett or Port Costa?
Yes. Both are in our pickup area along with Rodeo and Bayo Vista. Port Costa's water comes from the Contra Costa Water District rather than EBMUD, so tell us where the machine runs and we match the filter and descale advice to it. -
What should we do before storing a La Cimbali for a slow season?
Backflush the groups, clean the steam wand, and shut off the water supply before switching the machine off. If it will sit for months, ask us about draining the boilers. When it is time to restart, turn the water on before the power so the boiler does not heat dry. -
Our machine keeps tripping its safety thermostat. Is it dangerous?
A tripped thermostat means the boiler got hotter than it should, often because it ran low on water. Leave it off, since resetting it without finding the cause can damage the element. We check the level probe, the fill valve and the element on the bench before resetting anything. -
What does the La Cimbali pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. -
How long does La Cimbali bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to La Cimbali coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
