La Cimbali in Clayton
La Cimbali commercial service.
Clayton's tap water is treated Delta water from the Contra Costa Water District, drawn through the Contra Costa Canal and Los Vaqueros Reservoir. What matters for a La Cimbali is how much scale that water leaves in your boiler, and we judge that by what we find once the boiler is open. When an M26 recovers slowly between drinks, the element and the boiler are where we start.
We pick up from anywhere in Clayton, from Dana Hills and Cardinet Glen to Peacock Creek, and run the machine on our bench with every group and the steam wand working at once. That is where slow recovery and weak steam show themselves. The written quote comes before any part goes in.
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Slow heat recovery between drinks. When the machine takes longer to come back to temperature after a run of drinks, scale on the element or a weakening element is the usual cause. We descale the boiler, measure the element, and replace it if its resistance is off.
- Steam boiler pressure low or wandering. Weak steam with the gauge wandering points at the pressure switch, the element or the relay that feeds it. We check each against the gauge on the bench, replace the part that is off, and confirm the pressure holds through repeated steaming.
- Hot water tap spitting steam. A hot water tap that spits and sputters usually has a scaled mixing valve that cannot pass enough cold water to temper the flow. We clean or replace the mixing valve and set the blend so the tap pours steadily.

FAQ
La Cimbali in Clayton questions, answered.
-
How should we descale a La Cimbali on Clayton's Delta water?
Base it on what is inside, not on a calendar alone. When your machine is open on our bench we look at the boiler, element and probe, then suggest a filter and descale routine for your drink count. A full boiler descale is bench work, not something to run through the machine at the counter. -
Does summer heat in Clayton affect an espresso machine?
It can. A machine boxed in by cabinets or pushed against a wall runs hotter, and its electronics and pump motor feel it. Keep the vents and the space around the machine clear, especially on hot afternoons. -
Is an older M26 worth repairing?
In most cases, yes, when the boiler and frame are sound. Elements, probes, gaskets and solenoids are replaceable wear parts, and the written quote lists them so you can compare the total with a new machine. -
What does the La Cimbali pickup deposit cover?
$150–450 deposit depending on the model. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis and return, and is not credited toward the repair. -
How long does La Cimbali bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to La Cimbali coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
