Thermostat sensor faults after defrost problems. A failed defrost cycle ices the evaporator and encases the sensor bulb, and even after a manual defrost the thermistor often reads wrong afterward. The controller then short-cycles the box. I diagnose the defrost fault that started it, replace the damaged sensor, and confirm the full defrost cycle runs to termination.
