Common issues
Turbo Air is a workhorse, in the same class as True. It is a solid commercial unit that holds up for years and is generally worth repairing when it acts up. The failure pattern looks a lot like a True because it is the same grade of equipment. What we get called for comes with age and skipped upkeep, not bad design.
Thermostat problems show up as the unit ages. It stops holding the set temperature, runs warm, or short-cycles. From $250 labor plus the part.
Refrigerant leaks land in the 15-to-20-year range. Time, vibration, and corrosion catch up with the sealed system. This is the repair a general handyman can’t legally or properly do. We are EPA-certified (EPA #1279674151528) and set up for it. A full sealed-system rebuild runs up to $4000 with a 2-year warranty on the repair.
Door gaskets go when the unit has run a long time without maintenance. A leaking gasket forces the compressor to run constantly and drives the power bill up. It is the single cheapest thing you can keep ahead of, and a worn one is what turns a fine unit into a compressor that never shuts off.
Commercial labor uses the same $250 base, though difficult access, moving neighboring units, or a second tech can raise it. The $75 service call is flat and includes full diagnostics. We quote before any work.
