Thermostat sensor faults reading the box wrong. The cabinet thermistor drifts or the wiring chafes where it passes into the evaporator housing, so the digital controller thinks the box is colder than it is. Product sits at 45 while the display says 36. I verify with an independent probe, replace the sensor, and recalibrate the controller offset.
