  • Hardened seals leaking on first fill of the season. Rubber that spent eight dry months in a pool house does not seal like it used to. The first batch of mix finds the gap and ends up in the drip tray or on the counter. We replace bowl gaskets and shaft seals as a set, because when one has hardened the rest are right behind it.
  • Refrigerant loss from an idle sealed system. Small leaks that a daily-run machine would reveal quickly can go unnoticed for a year in a home installation. The symptom is granita that stays at milkshake texture no matter the setting. I leak-check, repair the joint, and recharge to specification under EPA 608 certification, with the work documented.
  • Gearmotor damage from a restart against frozen product. Someone shuts the machine off after the party but leaves product in the bowl, and it freezes solid in the residual cold. The next start stalls the drive. If the overload protection did its job we may only need to thaw and inspect. If not, the gearmotor needs replacement, which we quote in writing before ordering.
