- Rear shaft seal worn out by dense sweet mixes. Heavy syrup concentrations work past the rear seal earlier than the service interval suggests. You will spot sticky residue behind the bowl or a slow drip at the back panel. Replaced on time, it is an inexpensive seal kit. Ignored, the syrup migrates into the gearbox and takes the gearmotor with it.
- Compressor overheating in hot back-of-house corners. Fremont summers plus a machine boxed into a corner near the fryer means the compressor runs at the top of its temperature range for months. We measure discharge temperature and current, clean the condenser, and correct airflow before the compressor windings pay the price. If a compressor has already failed, we quote replacement in writing.
- Spiral shaft bushing wear causing wobble and scraping. When the front bushing wears, the spiral drops slightly and starts scraping the evaporator cylinder. You hear it, and you may find fine plastic shavings in the product, which is a health issue as much as a mechanical one. We replace the bushing and inspect the spiral and cylinder surface for damage.
