Auger shaft seal leaking product into the gearbox. This is the number one Donper failure I see in San Jose shops. The rear auger seal on XC series slush machines wears out, syrup migrates back into the gear motor, and the sugar destroys the gears. If you see product weeping from the back of the cylinder or find sticky residue under the machine, stop running it. A seal is a cheap part. A seized gearbox full of crystallized syrup is not.
Slush coming out liquid, compressor running constantly. When the product will not freeze but the compressor never shuts off, the usual causes are a clogged condenser or low refrigerant charge. High-traffic San Jose locations near fryers and grills clog condensers fast with airborne grease. I clean the coil first, then check charge and look for the leak.
