On a Donper XC212 or XC224 a warm bowl usually traces to one of three things: a fouled condenser, a drifted bowl thermistor, or a slow refrigerant leak at the evaporator wrap. In Alameda the condenser is my first check because the salt-laden air mats the fins with a greasy film. I clean the coil, verify pressures, and only then talk about sealed system work.
Auger gearbox grinding or stalling. The gear motor that turns the auger takes constant load when the product is at proper viscosity. Worn gears announce themselves with a rhythmic grind before they strip. Caught early it is a gearbox swap. Caught late the auger stalls mid-shift and the batch in the bowl is a write-off.
Syrup leaking behind the hopper. A worn rear auger shaft seal lets product weep past the bearing housing. You see sticky residue in the drip tray behind the bowl.
