Alamo is our own back yard. From San Ramon we are up Danville Boulevard or 680 in about fifteen minutes, which makes this one of the few places where a same-morning visit is realistic even on a busy week.

The Donper machines I see in Alamo split two ways. The small commercial strips around Alamo Plaza and Stone Valley Road run counter slush units for the after-school and swim-team crowd. Then there are the estate properties off Round Hill and Livorna, where a soft serve machine in the pool house gets treated like part of the kitchen. Soft serve too soft out of the spout. On Donper soft serve units like the D520 the consistency is controlled by torque feedback on the beater motor. When the scraper blades wear down, the mix never reaches proper stiffness and the board keeps calling for more refrigeration. People replace boards when a $40 blade set was the real problem. I check blades first, every time.
Machine trips the breaker on startup. A compressor with a failing start relay or weak start capacitor pulls locked-rotor current and pops the circuit. In pool house installs around Alamo this often gets blamed on the wiring. I test the start components at the compressor before anyone pays an electrician to chase a phantom.
Bowl freezes into a solid block overnight. If an XC series unit is left in freeze mode instead of standby overnight, or the standby thermostat drifts, the bowl sets up solid and the auger cannot break it free at open. That stalls the gear motor and shears the coupling. I set the night mode correctly and replace the coupling with the proper part, not a hardware store substitute.
