Airflow drops, the compressor works harder, and the barrel runs soft. I clean these coils harder on Coastside calls and tell you honestly when one is too far gone to keep cleaning.
Electrical connections corroding intermittently. Salt air gets into places you cannot see easily, including control board terminals and sensor connections, and the failure shows up fine one day and faulted the next. I check and clean those contacts on Coastside units instead of chasing only the part acting up today.
Barrel seals under seasonal volume swings. Summer weekends bring a spike in foot traffic to Main Street and the harbor that these machines do not see the rest of the year, and that swing from light to heavy use is hard on the barrel seal. I check it on any unit that ran fine all spring and suddenly starts leaking in July.
