- Soft serve machine runs but never firms up. In a low-use home machine this is usually dried and hardened scraper blades or a bowl that was stored dirty, not a refrigeration fault. I strip the freezing cylinder, replace blades and seals, and load a test batch. If pull-down is still slow after that, then we talk about the sealed system, with gauge readings to back it up.
- Loud rattle from the compressor compartment. Cabinet installs in cabinets and wet bars starve the condenser of airflow and the compressor mounts take the abuse. I check clearances, clean the coil, and re-secure the mounts. Where the cabinetry blocks airflow I will tell you plainly that the machine needs venting, because no repair survives a cabinet that cooks it.
- Slush unit leaking water onto the counter. Condensate from the bowl area has a drain path, and in home installs it clogs with syrup because the machine is cleaned less often than a shop unit. I clear and sanitize the drain path and replace any gaskets that have taken on water. Simple job, but left alone it damages the cabinet under the machine.
