Airborne grease glues dust to the condenser fins and the compressor runs hot until it trips or dies. Degreasing a coil is not a rag-and-brush job. I pull the panels and clean it properly, then check that head pressure comes back into range.
Auger coupling sheared on morning startup. High-volume shops that leave product in the bowl overnight without proper standby wake up to a frozen block. The motor turns, the auger does not, and the plastic coupling is in pieces. I replace the coupling and set the night mode so it stops happening. Repeat shears on the same machine point to a bowl thermistat problem, and I test for that too.
One bowl cold, the other warm on a two-bowl unit. On a Donper XC212 each bowl has its own solenoid and sensing. A warm bowl next to a working one usually means a stuck solenoid valve or a failed bowl sensor rather than a system-wide refrigerant issue. That is good news, because it is a cheaper fix, and I confirm it with gauges before quoting.
