- Wiring harness and contactor corrosion. Salt air works into the wiring harness and contactor over time and causes intermittent faults or a machine that will not start at all. I clean what can be saved and replace connectors that have already corroded through.
- Condenser coil and fan corrosion. Salt buildup on the condenser coil and fan blades cuts airflow and raises head pressure, so the compressor works harder than it should. I clean or replace the coil and fan and check the compressor for damage from running hot.
- Barrel seal and gasket deterioration. Coastal humidity dries out and cracks rubber seals faster than inland use does, and that shows up as mix leaking around the barrel. I replace the seals and gaskets before the leak reaches the drive components.
