What we repair on the bench.

Brew and steam solenoid valves. We check the coils, rebuild the valve or fit a new one, and follow the line back to find where the scale built up.
Group gaskets and screens. When a group drips or the shot pulls weak, the gasket and dispersion screen have usually worn out and need swapping. Where the soft-infusion feature is present, we take apart and rebuild the group head and dial the calibration back in.
Descaling and water filtration. These are plumbed machines, and well water on the outer roads toward Skyline often carries a different mineral load than the municipal supply on the valley floor. The fix is a boiler and line descale plus a fresh water filter, since a filter that never gets changed is what wears out the heating element and valves out here.
Heating element and level sensor. A unit that won't hold temperature or won't fill usually points to a burned-out heating element or a level probe fouled with scale. We run continuity checks on both, wipe the probe down, and put in a fresh element if it shows open.
