Clogged dispersion screen and channeling shots. Old grounds and coffee oil block the screen, so water hits the puck unevenly and shots channel. We replace the screen, clean the group and backflush it until the water runs clear. A screen that is warped or torn gets replaced, not cleaned.
Brew solenoid fouled by coffee oil. When a group goes too long without backflushing, oil works back into the brew solenoid and the group drips or stalls. We clean or replace the solenoid and walk you through a backflush routine that keeps it clear.
