Steam wand that weeps or will not shut off. A worn steam-wand valve lets steam leak past its seat, so the wand hisses or drips between drinks. We rebuild or replace the valve, clean the wand inside and out, and check that steam shuts off fully. Blocked holes in the wand tip get cleared too, since they make the valve work harder.
Weak, wet steam from a scaled boiler. Scale on the element slows recovery, and a run of milk drinks leaves the steam weak and wet. We descale the boiler, test the element and check the level probe, since a boiler filled too high also makes wet steam.
Hardened group gaskets and clogged screens. Hard gaskets leak around the portafilter, and clogged screens spread water unevenly over the puck. We replace both, flush the group and suggest a swap interval that fits your volume.
