Crathco in Belmont

Crathco commercial service.

Belmont sits between San Carlos and San Mateo on the Peninsula, and most of the Crathco frozen drink machines we see here run in cafes and quick-serve counters along El Camino Real or in the strip centers off Ralston Avenue. A bowl that quits mixing during a lunch rush costs a shop real money, so we treat these calls like the foodservice problem they are.

We don't run this call out of San Ramon. ADRIUM keeps a technician based on the Peninsula in San Mateo County, so Belmont, the shops near Twin Pines Park, and the corridor down toward Foster City get a local response instead of a long drive across the bridge.

We work on the Crathco D line, the FROZEN and Mini-Pro frozen dispensers, and the cold bubbler and spray units. We check the drive coupling, the sealed refrigeration system, the bowl gaskets, and the auger motor before we write up a quote, and any refrigerant work goes through our CSLB #1136642 and EPA 608 certification.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Magnetic drive coupling slipping. When the coupling that spins the auger wears down or starts slipping, the bowl stops mixing even though the motor still runs. We pull the coupling, check the shaft for wear, and replace the worn part so the auger turns the way it should.
  • Sealed system won't hold temperature. A bowl that runs warm or won't freeze at all usually traces back to the sealed refrigeration circuit or a failing evaporator. We test pressures and airflow before we touch anything, and any refrigerant recovery or recharge is done under CSLB #1136642 and our EPA 608 certification.
  • Bowl gaskets and shaft seals leaking. Hardened or torn gaskets let product weep out of the bowl and let warm air creep in, so the mix never sets up right. We replace the gasket and shaft seal kit and reset the bowl so it seals and holds temperature again.

FAQ

Crathco in Belmont questions, answered.

  • How fast can someone get to a Belmont location?
We keep a technician based on the Peninsula in San Mateo County, so Belmont calls get a local response instead of waiting on a truck from our San Ramon shop. We don't promise same-day on every call, but we move fast on a down foodservice machine because every hour it sits warm costs you sales.
  • Do you carry parts for the Crathco D line?
We stock the wear items that fail most, drive couplings, bowl gaskets, and shaft seals, right on the truck. A specific evaporator or control board we order by model, usually a day or two.
  • What does a diagnostic visit cost?
The diagnostic is $99, and it is credited toward the repair. We give you a written quote before we open the machine up, so you know the number before we start.
