Beverage-Air in Foster City
Beverage-Air commercial service.
Foster City is a planned town built around the lagoon, mostly condos and townhomes, and its retail sits concentrated in a handful of centers along Foster City Boulevard and Beach Park Boulevard rather than spread through a downtown strip. The cafes and small restaurants there run Beverage-Air undercounters and back-bar coolers, and the corporate campuses on the east side toward the lagoon lean on glass door merchandisers in their break rooms. We service both through Bay Area Refrigeration Service.
Ground-floor cafes in Foster City's mixed-use buildings often have their condensing units tucked into a utility closet with barely any airflow, built more for a quiet HVAC unit than for a refrigeration compressor that needs to shed heat. I check clearance and closet temperature on nearly every call here, because a unit that would run fine in an open kitchen can overheat and short-cycle in a sealed closet.
We operate as ADRIUM Service Solutions, owner-run, EPA Section 608 Universal certified, and CSLB #1136642. The $99 diagnostic is waived if you move forward with the repair, quotes are written before work starts, and we are available seven days a week.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Condenser overheating in tight mechanical closets. Undercounter coolers in Foster City's ground-floor cafes sometimes sit in a closet built for low-heat equipment, not a refrigeration condenser. Without enough clearance and fresh air, the unit runs hot, trips on high head pressure, and looks like a bigger failure than it is. I check the closet setup first and often solve the recurring shutdown with better airflow rather than a part.
- Evaporator icing in corporate campus break room merchandisers. Glass door merchandisers in office break rooms near the lagoon get opened constantly through the workday by employees grabbing drinks, and that steady door traffic lets in enough humid air to ice the evaporator over time. Cooling drops off gradually rather than all at once. I clear the coil and check the defrost cycle, since high-traffic units often need a shorter defrost interval than the factory default.
- Door hinge and gasket wear on restaurant back-bar coolers. The handful of full-service restaurants along Foster City Boulevard run back-bar coolers through long evening service, and constant door use eventually sags the hinges and pulls the gasket out of true. The compressor runs longer to compensate and the cabinet drifts warm on busy nights. I replace hinge hardware and fit a properly sized gasket rather than forcing a close-enough universal one.

FAQ
Beverage-Air in Foster City questions, answered.
-
Foster City is a small town. Do you actually come out here regularly?
Yes, our Peninsula technician is based in San Mateo County, and Foster City groups naturally with San Mateo, Belmont, and Redwood City on the same route. It is a normal stop, not a special trip out of the way. -
Our cafe's refrigeration unit is in a small closet with the water heater. Is that a problem?
It can be, if there is not enough airflow for the condenser to shed heat. I will check the closet setup as part of the diagnostic and tell you honestly whether the space itself is contributing to the failure, not just the unit. -
Can you coordinate with our building management for access?
Yes. A lot of Foster City retail sits inside managed mixed-use buildings, and we are used to checking in with a building manager or leasing office before getting to the unit. We carry license and insurance documentation in case it is requested.
