Will you work on a residential built-in bar cooler, or only restaurants?

Both. Beverage-Air back-bar units in home bars are the same machines we service in taprooms, and a lot of our Alamo work is exactly that. Commercial-grade equipment in a home still needs someone EPA 608 certified once refrigerant is involved.

What does the visit cost if nothing needs replacing?

The diagnostic is $75, and it is waived when you approve a repair. If the fix is something simple like a blocked grille or a tripped controller, we tell you that in writing and you only pay the diagnostic.

Beverage-Air in Alamo

Alamo does not have a big restaurant strip, but it has plenty of Beverage-Air equipment anyway. The cafes and delis around Alamo Plaza and Stone Valley run reach-ins and undercounters, and a surprising number of homes along Danville Boulevard have full wet bars with BB series glass door coolers built into the cabinetry. We treat those home units to the same commercial standard through Bay Area Refrigeration Service.

Built-in installs are the tricky part here. A back-bar cooler wrapped in custom millwork has nowhere to reject heat if the vents were never planned right, and I see condensers in Alamo homes choked years earlier than the same unit in an open bar. When I diagnose one, I look at the enclosure and airflow first, then the charge, and only then talk about the compressor.

We are based in San Ramon, ten minutes down 680, so Alamo is home turf. EPA 608 Universal certified, CSLB #1136642, written quotes, seven days a week, and the $75 diagnostic is waived with the repair.

What we close on the truck.

Overheating built-in BB series coolers in cabinet enclosures. Wet bar installs in Alamo estates often box the cooler in with a decorative toe kick that blocks the front grille. The condenser fan motor runs hot, seizes early, and the unit cuts out on high pressure. We replace the motor, clean the coil, and tell you plainly if the enclosure needs a vent cut to stop it happening again.
Iced evaporators on UCR undercounters in pool houses. Pool house and outdoor kitchen undercounters live with doors that get slammed wet all summer. The gasket loses its seal, moist air ices the evaporator, and the beverage fridge stops holding temperature. We replace the gasket, clear the ice, and check the drain so meltwater does not pool inside.
Thermostat and controller faults after power blinks. Alamo gets its share of PG&E flickers, and electronic controllers on newer HC series Beverage-Air units sometimes lock up or lose their setpoint afterward. We test the controller and temperature probe, reset or replace as needed, and verify the compressor cycles correctly before we leave.
