Atosa Mega Top prep table condenser fan replacement in Walnut Creek
Problem: A restaurant in Walnut Creek called about their Atosa Mega Top sandwich prep table. It was running warm and not cooling the way it should. A prep table that can’t hold temperature is a food safety problem in the middle of service. They asked us to come out as soon as we could.
Diagnostics: The table is an Atosa MSF8306GR. Our technician found the condenser fan wasn’t working properly. That fan pulls air across the condenser coil, and the coil is where the table dumps the heat it takes out of the food. Without enough airflow, the heat has nowhere to go. The table can’t cool properly, and the compressor can overheat.
Solution: We came back the next day, and the restaurant approved the repair. We shut the power off, took out the old condenser fan motor and installed a new one. While we were in there we checked the fan blade, the wiring and the connections. Then we powered it back up, made sure the fan was moving air across the coil, and watched the table come back down.
Result: When we left, the display read 37°F. If your prep table starts creeping warm, take a look at the condenser fan while the compressor is running. If it isn’t spinning, the coil can’t shed heat and the table won’t hold temperature for long. We repair Atosa commercial refrigeration in Walnut Creek and across the East Bay.
