Vevor soft serve machine not freezing in Vallejo
Problem: A customer in Vallejo called about their countertop soft serve machine. It wasn’t freezing the product properly, and they wanted someone out the same day or the next.
Diagnostics: Our technician tested the machine. It was operating properly. Nothing was broken, and the refrigeration was doing its job. What needed sorting out was how the modes were being used.
On this machine, KEEP FRESH and FREEZE are two separate modes. Turning one on does not start the other. KEEP FRESH pre-cools the mix in the hopper. FREEZE is what freezes the product for serving, and the display shows a ratio that climbs as the product firms up. At 99 it’s at serving consistency.
Solution: No parts were needed. We left the sequence in writing:
- After adding mix, select KEEP FRESH and let it run until it stops on its own.
- Then select FREEZE and wait for the ratio to reach 99.
- When you pour several servings in a row, the ratio drops and the product gets softer. Let it climb back to 99 before you keep serving.
- Watch the hopper temperature on hot days or in direct sun, and use KEEP FRESH as needed to keep the mix cold.
Result: The machine was fine. The owner has the sequence in writing and planned to run it that way. This one is set up outdoors under a cover, so the hot-day advice matters. If your soft serve comes out runny, check the sequence and the ratio before you book a repair. If it still won’t reach 99 after a proper pre-cool, that’s when to call us. We service soft serve and ice cream machines in Vallejo, Benicia and across the East Bay.
