Common issues we see
What breaks. What we fix.
Atosa is the budget commercial workhorse. We see a lot of these in independent restaurants, food trucks, and ghost kitchens because the price gets the door open. Service work is straightforward when you know the platform.
MBF reach-in refrigerators and freezers fail at the evaporator fan and the door-gasket interface. The fan motors are inexpensive and we carry two sizes on the truck. Door gaskets stretch in the first eighteen months under heavy use, and the unit ices over inside two weeks once the gasket lets warm air in. Replace gasket, defrost the evap, verify door closure across the full sweep.
MGF prep tables (sandwich, salad, pizza) suffer from drain-line clogs. The condensate pan drains to a tube that runs to a floor drain. Kitchen grease and food debris from above clogs the line. Symptom is water pooling under the unit. Pull, blow out the line, install an inline screen if the kitchen will let us.
Compressors on the MBF and MGF run on R290 (propane) refrigerant. We are licensed and trained for hydrocarbon refrigerant work. Most general appliance shops aren’t, and that’s why your last repair guy “couldn’t get parts.”
Worktop units (MWF) have the same condenser-clean issue as every commercial fridge in a working kitchen. Quarterly coil clean is the difference between a 7-year unit and a 4-year unit. We document the cleaning interval and leave a sticker inside the panel.
Atosa parts have gotten reliable in the supply chain over the last three years. Most repairs are one visit.

FAQ
Atosa questions, answered.
-
Are you licensed for R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant work?
Yes. Most Atosa compressors run on R290 (propane). We are licensed and trained for hydrocarbon refrigerant work. This is why your last repair guy "couldn't get parts." -
My Atosa prep table is leaking water on the floor. What is it?
Drain-line clog. The condensate pan drains to a tube that grease and food debris clogs. We pull, blow out the line, and install an inline screen if the kitchen allows it. -
My MBF reach-in ices over inside. Why?
Door gasket stretched, warm air entering, evap icing up. We replace gasket, defrost the evap, and verify door closure across the full sweep. -
How long do Atosa units last?
Seven years with quarterly coil cleans. Four years without. We document the schedule and leave a sticker inside the panel.
