Common issues
Beverage-Air is one of the brands we are happy to find behind the counter. The build lasts, and when one finally acts up it almost always pays to repair it rather than replace it. A unit that gets basic care will run for years. The calls we get are mostly down to age, not bad design.
Thermostat problems are the most common Beverage-Air call. The unit runs warm or won’t hold its setpoint because the thermostat has drifted or quit. From $250 labor plus the part.
Refrigerant leaks show up after 15 to 20 years. Years of vibration and corrosion eventually open the sealed system. This is the bigger job, and the one most general appliance techs can’t legally or properly handle. We are EPA-certified (EPA #1279674151528) and set up for it. A sealed-system rebuild runs up to $4000 with a 2-year warranty on the repair.
Door gaskets wear out when maintenance gets skipped. A tired gasket lets warm air in, keeps the compressor running nonstop, and drives up the power bill. Swapping a worn one is among the cheapest jobs on the unit, and it keeps the compressor from running itself into the ground. Ignored long enough, it shortens the life of the whole box.
Commercial labor starts at the same $250 base, but difficult access, moving neighboring units, or a second tech can raise it. The $75 service call is flat and includes full diagnostics. We quote before any work.
