My rule on any warm Beverage-Air box is airflow and charge before compressor, because I have pulled too many perfectly good compressors that someone else condemned over a dirty coil.

What we close on the truck.

  • Seized condenser fan motor on a busy line. A WTR27AHC worktop next to the fryer station eats grease vapor all day. The condenser mats over, the fan motor runs hot until the bearing locks, and the box climbs into the danger zone mid service. We swap the motor, degrease the coil, and check the compressor windings for heat damage.
  • Iced evaporator from door abuse. Castro Street kitchens slam reach-in doors hundreds of times a shift. Hinges sag, the gasket stops meeting the frame, and humid kitchen air ices the evaporator over. We rebuild the hinge and gasket seal and run the unit through a defrost to confirm the coil clears fully.
  • Control board short cycling the compressor. HC series electronic controls fail with pitted relays or drifting probes, and the compressor starts kicking on and off every minute or two. That pattern destroys start components fast. We diagnose at the board, replace the controller or probe, and verify stable cycling before we sign off.

  • Can you service the Beverage-Air units in our office micro kitchen?
    Yes, campus and office kitchens are normal work for us. We coordinate with facilities on access, do the $75 diagnostic, and send a written quote your office manager can approve. The diagnostic fee is waived once the repair is approved.
  • Our reach-in died Saturday night. Do you actually work weekends?
