What we close on the truck.

  • Auger blade and barrel liner wear. Years of daily scraping wear the auger flights and score the barrel surface, and the machine starts leaving unfrozen liquid at the barrel walls while the center over-freezes. Drink consistency goes unpredictable. I measure the wear honestly and quote either an auger replacement or, when the barrel itself is gone, a straight answer about the machine's remaining life.
  • Hard-freeze conditions on premium low-sugar mixes. Los Altos shops often pour less-sweet, natural-ingredient mixes, and low sugar means low freezing-point depression, so the product sets up harder than the factory settings expect. The machine strains and trips out. I recalibrate the freeze control to the actual mix and document the settings so a staff reset does not undo the fix.
  • Membrane keypad failures on older Ultra-2 panels. The classic Ultra-2 membrane switch wears out from thousands of presses, buttons go dead, and staff start power-cycling the machine to change modes. The panel is a known part with a known fix. I replace the membrane and check the ribbon connector behind it, which fails from the same flexing.
