  • Ultra-2 auger shaft seal leaks. The rear auger seal on the Ultra-2 wears out fastest in high-volume San Jose locations. Product starts weeping past the seal into the drip area behind the hopper, and if it goes long enough it reaches the drive components. I replace the seal and the wear ring together, check the auger shaft for grooving, and reset the hopper so the new seal is not destroyed in a month.
  • Torque-out and auger motor stalls. When the display throws a torque fault, the machine is telling you the product froze harder than the auger motor can turn. Sometimes that is a mix problem, brix set too low for the sugar content. Sometimes the motor or gearbox is actually failing. I measure motor draw under load and test the product before condemning parts, because half of these calls in San Jose are fixed by correcting the mix ratio.
  • Blocked condensers and freeze errors. Machines parked next to fryers or in dusty c-store corners plug their condenser coils, and then the Ultra cannot reject heat. Product goes soft on the busiest afternoon, then the board logs temperature errors. I clean the coil properly, verify refrigerant pressures with the 608 certification to back it, and check the fan motor, which is often on its way out by the time the coil is this dirty.
