  • Unit heats poorly after years inside cabinetry. When a remodel trims the ventilation clearance to keep the panel face flush, the electronics behind it cook slowly over the years and the magnetron loses power ahead of schedule. I check actual output, swap the tube if it has degraded, and open the venting back up so the fix does not start the same clock over.
  • Child lock and control lockouts that will not clear. Steam off a range nearby works its way into the control head over time, and the moisture there fires phantom key presses that read to the controller as a lockout. Resetting it is a short-term fix at best. A new touch panel with the edge sealed against that steam is what actually solves it.
