What breaks. What we fix.
Sharp commercial microwaves run hard in restaurants, delis, and c-stores. The R-CD, R-22, R-24, and R-25 heavy-duty units take hundreds of cycles a day, and when one quits during a lunch rush it stops the line. We work on all of them.
The most common call is no heat. The unit runs, the plate turns, but the food comes out cold. That almost always points to the magnetron, the high-voltage diode, or the capacitor. We test the HV circuit, confirm which part failed, and replace it with the right rated component. We do not throw parts at it. A blown line fuse usually means something downstream shorted, so we trace the cause before we drop in a new fuse and watch it blow again.
Door problems are the other big one. These units have interlock and monitor switches that cut power the instant the door cracks open. When they wear or fall out of adjustment, the microwave either won’t start or trips the monitor and pops the fuse. We adjust or replace the switches and check the latch so it seats clean every time. We also handle dead touch control panels and weak or stalled stirrer motors, which leave cold spots in the food and bring complaints from your line.
We carry common Sharp parts and source the rest fast, so most repairs turn around in one or two visits instead of leaving a hole in your kitchen.
Almost always worth repairing
A commercial Sharp is built to be serviced. A magnetron, diode, capacitor, or set of door switches costs a fraction of a new heavy-duty unit, and the cabinet, transformer, and chassis around them have years left. Replacing the whole microwave because one part failed is money you don’t need to spend. For a working operator, the math favors repair on these units in almost every case.
The diagnostic is $75, and we waive it when you approve the repair. You get a written quote before we touch anything, so there are no surprises on the invoice. If the unit truly isn’t worth fixing, we tell you straight and you’ve spent $75 to know for sure. Any work involving refrigerant or gas is done under our CSLB #1136642 license, though most microwave repairs don’t touch either.
