Sharp in Union City
Sharp commercial service.
Union City runs on fast counter food. The Filipino turo-turo spots and bakeries around Alvarado-Niles Road, the taquerias near Union Landing, and the delis serving the industrial parks off Whipple all use Sharp heavy-duty microwaves to reheat at volume. Add the c-stores and gas station food programs along Decoto Road and you have a lot of R-22 and R-CD units earning their keep every day.
ADRIUM Service Solutions repairs them on site. I am Andrew Kuznetsov, the owner, EPA Section 608 Universal certified, CSLB #1136642. Union City is one of our closest South Bay cities from San Ramon, so response here is quick. Diagnostic is $75 and disappears into the bill when you approve the repair. Written quote first, one year warranty on repairs, 7 days a week including the weekend rushes.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Arcing at the waveguide cover from grease buildup. Steam table kitchens reheating saucy food coat the waveguide cover in grease, it carbonizes, and the unit starts snapping and sparking inside the cavity. Left alone it burns through the cover and pits the waveguide. I replace the cover, clean and inspect the waveguide, and check magnetron output, since sustained arcing shortens tube life.
- Keypad failure from wet hands on R-22GTF counters. Counter staff hitting presets with wet or gloved hands pushes moisture into the membrane, and pads start ghosting or going dead. On the R-22GTF I replace the membrane switch assembly and reseal the panel edge. If liquid reached the board behind it, I test the board before quoting so there are no surprises after the fix.
- Dead transformer on high-cycle R-CD1800M units. A unit that trips the breaker or gives a hard buzz with a hot electrical smell often has a shorted high voltage transformer. It is a heavier repair but still far cheaper than replacing an R-CD1800M. I confirm with winding resistance checks first, because a shorted capacitor mimics the symptom and costs a quarter as much.

FAQ
Sharp in Union City questions, answered.
-
How close is Union City to your San Ramon shop?
Close. From San Ramon we take 680 and cut over through Niles Canyon on 84, about 30 minutes, or run 880 when I am already on the corridor. Union City pairs naturally with Fremont, Hayward, and Newark on the same route, so same day service is realistic for most calls here. -
Our microwave died during lunch. Can you come today?
Call and tell us it is a down line, not a nagging fault. Because Union City sits on our nearest South Bay loop I can often slot an emergency the same day, and I carry fuses, diodes, interlock kits, and magnetrons for the common Sharp commercial models so the first visit is usually the only visit. -
The fuse keeps blowing after we replace it ourselves. Why?
A fuse that blows repeatedly is protecting you from something, most often interlock switches firing out of sequence or a shorted HV diode. Feeding it fuses just stresses the transformer. I test the interlock sequence and the high voltage side, replace the actual failed parts, and the fuse stops being a subscription.
