When that stirrer motor quits, food heats in stripes and customers send plates back. The motor is cheap and quick to replace once you know the symptom, and most people chase the magnetron by mistake.
- High-voltage diode failure. A shorted HV diode gives you a loud hum and no heat, and it often takes the internal fuse with it. I test the diode, the capacitor, and the magnetron as a set, because replacing only the fuse sends the machine back to the line just long enough to fail during the next rush.
