- Shorted high-voltage capacitor. A failing HV capacitor announces itself with a hard buzz at the start of a cycle and no heat, and it can drag the transformer down with it if it runs that way for weeks. I discharge and test the capacitor, diode, and transformer as a group and quote only what actually failed.
- Waveguide cover burned through. Bakery duty splatters butter and sugar onto the waveguide cover, and once it carbonizes the unit arcs on every cycle. Left alone, the arcing erodes the waveguide flange itself. Replacing the cover early is a small job, and I inspect the guide behind it while I am there.
- Intermittent no-start from door switch wear. Counter staff cycling the door through the morning rush wears the interlock contacts unevenly, so the unit starts on the second or third slam. That habit bends hinges. I replace the switch set, align the door, and the first-press start comes back.
