Sharp in Daly City
Sharp commercial service.
Daly City runs a dense strip of small kitchens along Mission Street and Southgate Avenue, turo-turo counters, noodle houses, and corner delis reheating rice, lumpia, and prepped entrees all day long. Up the hill, Westlake and Serramonte carry sit-down restaurants and grocery deli counters doing the same volume of work. Most of them lean on the same Sharp heavy-duty decks, the R-CD, R-22, R-24, and R-25 series, because a home microwave does not survive that pace past a few months.
we diagnose the fault before providing a written estimate. Every call starts with a $99 diagnostic, credited toward the repair, and you get a written quote before we open the cabinet.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Magnetron wearing out under repeat reheats. A turo-turo counter running an R-22 or R-24 through hundreds of reheats a day burns out the magnetron faster than any home kitchen ever would. When the fan still runs but the food stays cold, I test the high-voltage circuit and the magnetron together before quoting a part.
- Door interlock and monitor switches worn from constant slamming. Counter staff pushing plates in and out all shift close these doors hard, and the interlock and monitor switch set takes the abuse. Once one wears out, the unit either will not start or trips a fuse the moment the door shuts. I replace the switch set together since they work as one safety chain.
- High-voltage diode and capacitor failures. A unit that hums, blows its line fuse, or heats weakly on an R-CD or R-25 usually traces back to a failed HV diode or capacitor. I discharge the unit safely, test both parts, and replace whichever one actually failed.

FAQ
Sharp in Daly City questions, answered.
-
Do you cover Daly City and Brisbane, or just one side of the hill?
Both. We run Daly City, Westlake, and Serramonte, and Brisbane sits on the same loop right next door. Our technician is based on the Peninsula in San Mateo County, so this is a normal stop for us, not a special trip out from San Ramon. -
Do you carry Sharp parts, or do you have to order them?
We stock the common wear parts for the R-CD, R-22, R-24, and R-25 line, magnetrons, HV diodes and capacitors, line fuses, and interlock switches. A specific touch panel or stirrer motor sometimes has to be sourced, and the written quote tells you which before you commit. -
Our microwave trips the breaker every time the door closes. Is that dangerous?
Stop using that outlet and call us. That pattern almost always means a failed interlock or monitor switch doing exactly what it is built to do, cutting power rather than letting a faulty door run the magnetron. It is a normal repair, but the high-voltage section holds a charge, so it is not something to open yourself.
