The first weekend it runs again, mix weeps down the housing before the tank even freezes properly. I pull the old seal, set a new one with the shaft greased the right way, and the leak stops before your guests arrive.
  • Compressor won't kick on after sitting all winter. A Woodside machine that wintered in an unheated pool house usually just hums at you, tank lukewarm, compressor silent. Most of the time the start capacitor or the relay gave out, not the compressor itself.
