Vevor in Half Moon Bay
Vevor commercial service.
Half Moon Bay is our anchor point on the Coastside, and that covers Main Street and the restaurants down by the harbor along with the smaller kitchens up Highway 1 in Montara, Moss Beach, and El Granada. A lot of these places run Vevor slush machines for the weekend tourist crowd that comes out for the harbor and the beaches.
Salt air ages this equipment differently than it does inland. Tap valves, tank fittings, and the metal parts around the compressor pick up salt film faster near the water, and I check for that specifically on every Coastside call.
We're owner-operated out of San Ramon, and the technician we added on the Peninsula, living in San Mateo County, means a truck coming over Highway 92 is already close to this coast rather than starting from the East Bay. CSLB #1136642, EPA 608 certified. Diagnostic is $99, credited toward the repair, with a written quote first and service 7 days a week.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Tap valves and fittings corroding faster from salt air. A Vevor tap valve near the harbor or right on Main Street picks up salt film that works into the valve core and fittings well ahead of schedule compared to an inland unit. I replace corroded cores rather than just cleaning them, since salt damage does not stop once it starts.
- Tank gaskets and seals degrading ahead of schedule. The same salt air that eats at metal fittings also breaks down rubber gaskets and seals faster near the coast, so a Half Moon Bay unit can need reseating and new seals on a shorter timeline than the same machine would need inland.
- Compressor and electrical contacts corroding intermittently. Salt air works into places you cannot easily see, including electrical contacts and compressor terminals, and the failure shows up as intermittent, fine one day and faulted the next. I check and clean those contacts on Coastside calls instead of only chasing whatever part is acting up that day.

FAQ
Vevor in Half Moon Bay questions, answered.
-
Do you actually cover Montara, Moss Beach, and El Granada, or just Half Moon Bay itself?
Half Moon Bay is our anchor for the whole Coastside, and that includes Montara, Moss Beach, and El Granada up Highway 1. Our Peninsula-based technician runs this coast regularly, not as a special trip. -
Does the salt air really make these machines fail more?
It changes what fails first. Salt air speeds up corrosion on tap valves, fittings, and electrical contacts, so a Coastside unit can need seals and contacts checked on a tighter schedule than the same machine inland. -
How does response time work all the way out here?
We have a technician living on the Peninsula in San Mateo County, so a Half Moon Bay call is not a truck crossing the whole bay first. I won't promise a number of minutes since 92 and Highway 1 traffic varies, but the technician covering this coast already lives close to it.
