Navien in Mountain View
Navien heating and cooling in Mountain View.
Mountain View runs from small 1920s and 40s bungalows downtown to dense newer condos and townhomes toward North Bayshore. The older homes near Castro Street often have a tankless crammed into a former water-heater closet that was never sized for combustion air, and the newer units get sealed-combustion Navien models that need both vent pipes run correctly.
We service Navien NPE and NPN units throughout Mountain View. The bay-moderated climate here is mild, so the heaters rarely fight extreme cold, but the hard water still scales exchangers on the same schedule as anywhere in the South Bay. Most of my Mountain View calls are descaling and venting cleanup from fast builder installs.
ADRIUM verifies the gas and combustion details that DIY and rushed installs miss. On a small bungalow lot I check that a sealed-combustion Navien is pulling outside air and not starving in a closet, because that is a common cause of intermittent shutdowns here.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Combustion air starvation in a converted closet. Older Mountain View homes put the tankless in a tight interior closet. A non-direct-vent setup then runs short of air and short-cycles or throws ignition faults. I convert it to proper direct-vent intake from outside or open the combustion air path so the burner gets what it needs.
- E760 fan or air pressure fault. On the Navien the combustion fan and air pressure sensor have to agree. Lint, dust, and a partially blocked intake in a dense townhome install trigger E760. I clean the fan and intake, verify the pressure sensor reading, and replace the fan only if it is actually failing.
- Scale-driven temperature swing. Hard South Bay water scales the heat exchanger and the temperature starts hunting up and down at the tap. I descale with a circulation pump and check the mixing and flow sensors after, so you get steady output again instead of a moving target.

FAQ
Navien in Mountain View questions, answered.
-
Do you come down to Mountain View from San Ramon or refer it out
We come to you. Mountain View is a straight shot for us through Sunnyvale and the South Bay corridor, same route I take for Palo Alto and Los Altos. No referral, no travel charge. -
My tankless is in a small closet and keeps shutting off, is it dangerous
It can be a combustion air problem, which is worth taking seriously. I check whether your Navien is sealed direct-vent or pulling room air, and I make sure it is venting safely before anything else. Safety first, then the repair quote. -
How often should I descale in Mountain View
Once a year for most homes here. The water is hard enough that skipping it shortens the heat exchanger life. If you have a softener I will check the output and may tell you that you can wait longer.
