Cooking Appliance Repair in Sunnyvale
Cooking Appliance Repair in Sunnyvale.
Cherry Chase and Cumberland West in 94087 are the densest run of Thermador Freedom built-ins and Bosch induction we cover in the South Bay, most of it from 2015-and-newer tech-corridor remodels. Induction is the bulk of the work here. A Bosch cooktop throwing F47 or E5 is an IGBT power module overheating, and the usual cause is a blocked cooling-fan vent under the glass, not a dead board. I pull it, clean the vent, verify airflow, and it goes back in service with no parts order.
Old Sunnyvale in 94086 is a different stock: KitchenAid built-in suites with KOSE wall ovens and the Whirlpool-platform electronics behind them. Those lose the hidden bake element or drift on the oven sensor and throw a temp fault. The 94089 side near Lockheed and Murphy Avenue runs newer mixed brands, including some gas ranges where a burner will not stay lit after the knob is released. That is a weak thermocouple most of the time. I meter before I order. The wrong starting point costs the customer money.
What the work looks like
A gas oven burner lighting clean after service.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Bosch induction F47 / E5 fault. IGBT power module overheating from a blocked fan vent under the cooktop. Clean the vent, verify airflow. Board swap only if the module tests dead on the bench.
- Thermador Freedom induction, zone drops out. Power-module fan or thermistor placement, not always the board. Bench-test the module before signing out.
- KitchenAid KOSE wall oven, dead bake element. European-style hidden element open at the terminal. Single-visit swap with the model number ahead of time, verified through a full bake.
- Gas range burner will not stay lit. Weak thermocouple most of the time. Carry the common thermocouples and ignitors on the truck.

FAQ
Cooking Appliance Repair in Sunnyvale questions, answered.
-
How does routing to Sunnyvale work from San Ramon?
I block Sunnyvale with Mountain View and Cupertino on the same route day. Drive time runs 50 to 65 minutes. You get a written arrival window before I head down. -
My Bosch induction cooktop shows F47. Do I need a new board?
Usually not. F47 is the power module overheating, and the common cause is a blocked cooling vent under the glass. I clean it and verify airflow first. I only order a board after the module tests dead on the bench. -
Can you get parts for a 2015-or-newer Thermador or Bosch built-in?
Yes. I work to BSH service procedures and order Thermador and Bosch parts through the BSH distribution network. Common ignitors, sensors, and power-module fans ride on the truck.
