Cooking Appliance Repair in Piedmont

Cooking Appliance Repair in Piedmont.

Piedmont cooking calls come off the hill-house remodels in 94610, 94611, and 94620. Wolf and Thermador dual-fuel ranges, Thermador and Miele wall ovens, and the occasional Bosch induction cooktop. A lot of this gear is well into its service life now, so the ranges land in the spark-module and burner-ignitor window and the wall ovens drop bake elements and temp sensors. The mainstream layer in central Piedmont still runs KitchenAid and GE Profile ranges, and those throw their own ignitor and oven-sensor faults.

I diagnose with a meter, not by swapping parts. On a Wolf or Thermador sealed burner that clicks but won't light, I bench-test the gas valve micro-switch and check the electrode gap and carbon at the tip before I condemn a spark module. On a dead wall oven I read the RTD resistance before I touch the control board. The wrong starting point is what runs up the bill on a $9,000 range, so I prove the failed part before I order anything.

What the work looks like

A gas oven burner lighting clean after service.

A gas oven bake burner lighting with an even blue flame after service. The white bar is the glow-bar igniter, and when it weakens the oven will not heat even though it still glows.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Wolf dual-fuel sealed burner clicking, no light. Usually the spark module, electrode, or carbon at the tip. I clean, re-gap, and test the valve micro-switch before ordering anything.
  • Thermador wall oven, dead bake element or F-code. Hidden bake element open, or a drifted temp sensor reading over-temp. Single visit when I have the model number ahead.
  • Bosch induction cooktop, E or F overheat fault. Nine times out of ten it's a blocked cooling-fan vent under the glass, not a power board. Clean the vent, verify airflow, done.
  • KitchenAid or GE Profile oven, F2 over-temp. RTD sensor drifted out of spec. Thirty-minute sensor swap. The board is usually fine.

FAQ

Cooking Appliance Repair in Piedmont questions, answered.

  • How fast can you get to Piedmont for a range or oven call?
We run from San Ramon, 35 to 45 minutes via 24 and 580. Inner-East-Bay is block-scheduled, so Piedmont is a planned-route stop most weeks. Booked windows get a written arrival time before I leave the shop.
  • My Wolf range only fails to light on one burner. Is that the whole spark module?
Rarely. One burner usually means a fouled electrode or a worn valve micro-switch on that position. The spark module fires all igniters off one part, so when only one burner is dead I clean and re-gap that electrode and test its switch first.
  • Do you handle the gas connection on a range swap?
Yes. Gas work is licensed under CSLB #1136642 and I carry the right gas-leak detector. Diagnostic is $75, waived when you book the repair.
