Cooking Appliance Repair in Moraga

Cooking Appliance Repair in Moraga.

Moraga is one ZIP, 94556, and the cooking work follows the Lamorinda pattern. The Campolindo and Moraga Country Club homes run Wolf and Thermador dual-fuel ranges, with M Series and Pro Grand wall ovens behind them. A lot of these kitchens are well into their second or third decade, so the calls are ignition and sensor drift, not cosmetics. Over on the Rheem Valley and Saint Mary's side the mix shifts to KitchenAid and GE Profile ranges, where the failures are different and cheaper.

The work is meter-first. On a Wolf M Series oven that won't bake, I test the hot-surface ignitor resistance before I touch the safety valve, because a cracked ignitor is usually the part and the valve is fine. On a Thermador Pro Grand that heats but won't hold temp, the RTD sensor or the fan-circuit relay on the control board is usually the cause. I bench-test before I order, so nobody pays for a board that didn't fail.

What the work looks like

A gas oven burner lighting clean after service.

A gas oven bake burner lighting with an even blue flame after service. The white bar is the glow-bar igniter, and when it weakens the oven will not heat even though it still glows.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Wolf M Series oven ignitor. Bake won't light, broiler may still work. The hot-surface ignitor cracks and loses resistance, the valve never opens. I carry the M Series ignitor. One hour, single visit.
  • Thermador Pro Grand sensor and fan relay. Oven heats but won't hold, convection fan runs after the cycle ends. RTD drift or the fan-circuit relay on the dual-fuel board. I test both before ordering.
  • Wolf dual-fuel RTD drift. Reads right at moderate temps, runs high at roast heat, food burns before the timer's done. Sensor swap and a calibration check, about 30 minutes.
  • Wolf burner cap re-seat. Ragged flame, soot on the cap, owner thinks the spark module is dying. Re-seat the cap, clean the venturi, verify flame symmetry. No board needed.

FAQ

Cooking Appliance Repair in Moraga questions, answered.

  • How fast can you get to Moraga for a range or oven call?
I'm based in San Ramon, so Moraga is a short run through Lafayette or over the hill. I pair it with the Orinda and Lafayette window, typically a couple of routed days a week. Booked calls get a written arrival time before I leave.
  • My Wolf oven won't light but the cooktop burners work. Is it the gas valve?
Almost never. The safety valve only opens once the hot-surface ignitor draws enough current, and that ignitor cracks with age. I test the ignitor resistance first. I carry the M Series part, so most of these close in one visit.
  • What does a Wolf or Thermador cooking repair cost in Moraga?
Diagnostic is $75, waived when you book the repair. An ignitor or sensor job is a single-visit flat repair. Board-level work I quote in writing before I order anything. CSLB #1136642 covers the gas work.
