Cooking Appliance Repair in Walnut Creek
Cooking Appliance Repair in Walnut Creek.
Northgate and Walnut Heights, east of Ygnacio Valley Road, run Wolf and Thermador dual-fuel ranges in the 94598 hillside homes, most of them well past warranty. The Thermador ranges click without lighting. That points at the spark module, the electrode, or carbon at the tip. The Wolf ovens bake slow when the ignitor weakens and stops pulling enough current to open the gas valve. Both get metered before any parts order, because the symptoms read alike and the cure is not.
Rossmoor and the flatlands toward downtown in 94595 and 94596 lean to KitchenAid and GE Profile. Those throw an oven temp fault when the RTD sensor drifts, a quick swap, or lose a hidden bake element that reads fine until you check resistance. Rossmoor in particular sees a lot of original built-in suites from the 70s and 80s that owners kept rather than replace. The Broadway corridor downtown is heavy on restaurant equipment, but that is commercial cooking and a separate trade. On the residential side I keep the common ignitors, thermocouples, and oven sensors on the truck so most of these close in one visit.

Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Thermador range clicks, no light. Most often carbon fouling at the electrode or a tired spark module. I clean and re-gap the electrode, confirm the spark, and check the gas valve micro-switch before any part gets ordered.
- Wolf dual-fuel oven bakes slow or will not ignite. Bake ignitor weakened with age, not opening the gas valve. Verify current draw with a meter, swap the ignitor, confirm light-off.
- GE Profile oven temp fault. RTD oven sensor drifted out of spec. Sensor swap is a short single-visit job. The board is usually fine.
- Original Rossmoor built-in oven, no heat. Older suites usually lose a bake element or a worn switch, not a board. I test the element and the wiring at the terminal and confirm heat across a full cycle before I leave.

FAQ
Cooking Appliance Repair in Walnut Creek questions, answered.
-
How quickly can you reach Walnut Creek?
Walnut Creek is close to home base. Drive time from San Ramon runs 20 to 30 minutes, so same-day is realistic when there is an open slot. Booked windows get a written arrival time first. -
My Wolf oven takes forever to preheat. What is wrong?
Usually the bake ignitor. As it ages it stops drawing enough current to open the gas valve, so the oven runs lean and slow. I verify the draw with a meter and swap the ignitor. It is a single-visit fix in most cases. -
Do you service restaurant cooking equipment downtown?
No. Commercial kitchen lines are a separate trade from this. This service covers residential ranges, ovens, cooktops, and hoods. If you have a commercial unit, call and I will tell you whether it is something I take before anyone schedules a trip.
