Cooking Appliance Repair in Clayton
Cooking Appliance Repair in Clayton.
Clayton sits at the foot of Mount Diablo, and its neighborhoods came in stages: Dana Hills and Clayton Wood in the late 1980s, then Peacock Creek from 1996 with mostly large homes. A larger kitchen may hold a pro-style range, a 36- or 48-inch dual-fuel or all-gas model from Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Bertazzoni or Z-Line, with open burners, a griddle and sometimes two ovens.
Pro ranges share the same weak points: spark electrodes and modules, oven igniters, thermocouples, and the valve micro-switches that tell the module when to spark. We test those before we order anything. We cover Clayton with our technician based in Benicia, and gas work is licensed under CSLB #1136642. You start with a $99 diagnostic, which is credited toward the repair.
What the work looks like
A gas oven burner lighting clean after service.
Common repairs we handle.
- Thermador Star Burner clicking without lighting. Carbon on the electrode tip, a cracked electrode or a failing spark module stops the Star Burner from catching. We clean and re-gap the electrode and test the valve micro-switch before we order a new module.
- Gas pro-range oven that will not light. A cracked or weak hot-surface igniter never gets hot enough to open the safety valve, so the oven stays cold. We measure the igniter and the valve, replace the igniter when it fails the test, and confirm the oven reaches temperature.
- Burners that keep clicking after they light. Constant clicking after the flame is lit usually means moisture in the burner area, a stuck valve switch or a weak ground at the module. We dry and clean the burners, test each switch, and replace only the one that sticks.
- Infrared broiler that will not stay lit. On a pro range, an infrared broiler that goes out often has a worn igniter and a weak thermocouple at the same time. We test both, replace them as a pair when both are tired, and run the broiler through a full cycle.

FAQ
Cooking Appliance Repair in Clayton questions, answered.
-
Our Peacock Creek kitchen has a 48-inch range with two ovens. Can you work on both?
Yes. Each oven has its own igniter or element, sensor and control circuit, so one can fail while the other works. We test the one that quit and check the other while the range is open. -
Does Clayton's summer heat affect a wall oven?
Not much while it sits, but a hot kitchen makes the cooling fan and the electronics above the oven work harder. If the control panel acts up during long summer bakes, we check the cooling fan and the vents around the oven. -
Is a pro range worth repairing at fifteen years old?
Usually. These ranges are built around replaceable parts, and a new one costs far more than an igniter, a spark module or a thermocouple. We quote the repair in writing, and if a part is no longer made, we tell you before you spend more.
