Cooking Appliance Repair in Saratoga.
The hill homes off Pierce, Saratoga-Sunnyvale, and Big Basin Way in 95070 cook on Wolf and Thermador dual-fuel ranges. Most of those went in during the late 90s and early 2000s remodels, so they are deep into the failure window for ignition and oven electronics. On the Thermador ranges I see Star Burner clicking with no light, which is the spark module, the electrode, or carbon at the tip. I clean it, re-gap, and meter the gas valve micro-switch before anyone orders a module.
The flatter side toward Quito Road and the village runs more GE Monogram and KitchenAid. Those are different calls. Monogram and Cafe ovens throw an F2 over-temp when the RTD sensor drifts, which is a 30-minute sensor swap, not a board. KitchenAid wall ovens lose the hidden bake element and read fine until you check resistance. I meter the failure first. Guessing at parts is how a cheap fix turns into an expensive one.
What the work looks like
A gas oven burner lighting clean after service.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Thermador Star Burner clicks, no light. Spark module, ignitor electrode, or carbon at the tip. Clean, re-gap, test the gas valve micro-switch, then order parts only after the meter says so.
- Wolf dual-fuel oven, weak ignition or slow bake. Bake ignitor weakens with age and will not pull enough current to open the gas valve. Carry the common ignitors, verify draw with a meter.
- GE Monogram / Cafe oven F2 over-temp. Oven RTD sensor drifted out of spec. Sensor swap is half an hour. Board is almost always fine.
- KitchenAid wall oven, dead bake element. Hidden element open at the terminal. With the model number ahead of time it is a single-visit job, verified through a full bake cycle.

FAQ
Cooking Appliance Repair in Saratoga questions, answered.
-
How fast can you get to Saratoga from San Ramon?
About 50 minutes on a clear day. I route South-Bay calls onto the same day to keep the drive efficient, and you get the arrival window in writing before I head down. -
My Thermador burner clicks but will not light. Is that a control board?
Rarely. It is almost always the spark module, the electrode, or carbon buildup at the tip. I clean and re-gap first and meter the gas valve micro-switch before condemning anything. Most of those close in one visit. -
Do you do gas range work as well as electronics?
Yes. Gas work is licensed under CSLB #1136642 and I run a proper gas-leak detector on the truck. Burners, valves, ignition, and orifice work are all in scope.
