I measure intake temperature, correct airflow or placement, and only then judge the sealed system fairly.
  • Torque sensing drift on high-cycle machines. Machines that freeze and serve continuously drift out of consistency calibration faster. Product wanders from icy to loose across a shift. I recalibrate against actual product, verify the control board is stable, and quote the board in writing if it is the real culprit.
  • Worn blades masking a healthy system. Rounded scraper blades leave insulating ice on the barrel wall, so the machine acts under-charged when the refrigeration is fine. I check blades before condemning anything expensive. It is a cheap part that gets misdiagnosed as a compressor more often than owners would believe.
