Soft serve overrun drops and product turns dense. On Spaceman soft serve units with an air pump feed, a tired pump or degraded pump o-rings kill overrun, so product turns heavy and portions shrink your margin. I rebuild or replace the pump and set the mix-to-air ratio back where the product tastes right.
Start relay and capacitor at end of life. A compressor that hums, clicks, and gives up before finally catching is running on a dying start relay. It is a small part and a quick fix now. Ignored, the repeated locked rotor starts shorten the compressor's life, and the compressor is the expensive part of the machine.
Blade and seal wear on schedule. A steady downtown counter wears scraper blades and shaft seals on a fairly predictable clock. I replace them as a kit during one planned teardown, note the date, and tell you when the next set is likely due, so the machine stays off the emergency list.
