Scope of work

What we do. What we fix.

What we do

When the compressor quits, the unit stops cooling and the clock starts on your inventory. ADRIUM is an EPA-certified refrigeration shop (EPA #1279674151528, CSLB #1136642) that replaces commercial compressors the right way, sealed-system included, across the Bay Area.

The compressor is the heart of the system. When it goes, the box stops cooling entirely. There is no limping along. A walk-in or a reach-in full of product is now on a deadline, and a warm box is also a health-code problem waiting to happen.

Replacing a compressor isn’t a swap-and-go. It is sealed-system work: recovering the old refrigerant, brazing in the new compressor, evacuating the system, and recharging to spec. That requires EPA certification by law. Most handyman techs can’t legally or properly do it. We can.

What we service

We work on Embraco and Tecumseh compressor systems, the workhorses of commercial refrigeration. They are in most reach-ins, under-counters, prep tables, and walk-ins around the Bay Area, and we service them down to the sealed-system level.

Built-in units like Sub-Zero, walk-ins, and some specialty boxes run higher and sometimes need a second tech. We tell you that up front.

What it costs

Every job starts with a $75 service call that includes full diagnostics. You get an exact quote before any work begins.

ServiceTypical cost*
Service call + diagnostic$75 (flat)
Compressor replacement (Embraco / Tecumseh, reach-in)from $500 labor + materials + compressor part
Refrigerant recharge$200–$400 (by type and volume)

*Built-in units and walk-ins can run higher and sometimes need a second tech. Difficult access or moving neighboring units can raise it too. Final price depends on the unit, the compressor, and the refrigerant type. We quote before any work.

Repair or replace

A new compressor is the most expensive single fix on a commercial box, so the math matters.

On a quality commercial unit, a True reach-in, a Turbo Air prep table, a solid walk-in, a new compressor is usually worth it against the cost of a whole new unit. Those boxes are built to keep running for years after the swap.

On a cheap unit, it often isn’t. If the rest of the system is tired or the box was budget-grade to start, putting a $500-plus compressor into it doesn’t pay off. We will say so rather than sell you a job that won’t last.

Why ADRIUM

  • EPA-certified for refrigerant handling. Sealed-system compressor work done legally and to spec.
  • We service Embraco and Tecumseh systems, the most common compressors in commercial refrigeration.
  • Straight repair-or-replace advice, with the cost on the table before we start.
  • Fast response, because a down box is a clock on your product.

A failing compressor often traces back to a system that ran hard for too long. Our preventive maintenance keeps condensers clean and gaskets sealed so the compressor isn’t working overtime, and a WiFi temperature sensor warns you the moment a unit drifts before you lose the whole load. For the full picture, see our commercial refrigeration page.
