Zephyr's glass touch panels fail from steam intrusion and grease migration, giving you a hood that ignores taps or turns itself on at 2 a.m. I test the control board and touch assembly separately, replace the failed layer, and seal the routing so the same moisture path does not take out the new part.
- Hood lights up but airflow is gone or feeble. With an in-line or rooftop external blower, the failure point is often nowhere near the hood itself. I trace the blower wiring, check the motor and capacitor at the remote unit, and inspect the duct run for a collapsed section, because replacing a healthy hood while the attic blower sits seized is an expensive wrong guess.
- Presrv wine cooler drifting warm or sweating on the glass. Temperature drift in the Presrv line comes down to the thermistor, the evaporator fan, or a charge issue on compressor models, and door-glass condensation usually means a gasket or a failed low-e panel. I measure before quoting, and any sealed-system work is covered by my EPA 608 Universal certification.
