The remodeled kitchens up in the hills are where I find the full Zephyr lineup, island and wall hoods paired with a Wolf or Thermador range, plus a Presrv wine or beverage column built into the bar cabinetry. Down in the flats it is more often a single Zephyr insert tucked under a cabinet.

The hill houses push a lot of CFM through those hoods to clear a big cooktop, and that is where the blower motor bearings wear first. The hood gets loud, the pull drops, and I check the motor against the speed-control board before I say which one it is. The other call I get from Belmont is a Presrv cooler running warm on one zone, which is usually the evaporator fan or the zone control, not the whole unit.
